Struggling mom, this is for you 🙂
I know we all moms are Pinterest and Instagram addict. I LOVE the ideas shared on these social media really. From finding new ideas to recipes to quotes. You just name it. I search on Pinterest. It’s like a wonderland where everything seems super easy and fun. Diy projects or life hacks or baking a cake, everything at one place and I am sure everyone who is creative love Pinterest and Instagram too.
If I have to say one word about these social media platforms, that would be MAGICAL!
But you know what my dear struggling working mom, who is trying to keep everything perfect, there is one thing that is NEGATIVE about these social media platforms. If we just keep comparing our lives with the moms who are on Instagram, sharing their picture-perfect neat and clean homes, we will become discontent soon. Comparing is easy but it definitely brings so much trouble.
Have a look at how this comparison is making you unhappy.
COMPARING KIDS AND ARTS ACTIVITIES
Let’s start with the kids and activities. On Instagram, we see mothers doing crafts and art activities with their kids. They have something new to share every day. That is the reason you follow mom bloggers right? To get ideas? But normal moms struggle and don’t you compare your life and judge yourself just because your kids are not doing some crafts activity every day. DON’T DO THAT PLEASE!

I know, I have been through this phase too. There are so many mom struggles nobody talk about. We read struggling mom quotes and feel so powerful but that’s not real. Feeling guilty after sending a simple sandwich in my kid’s lunchbox is what I struggle with. Why didn’t I try more and sent a smiley-faced sandwich, I am not a good mom?
Stay at home struggling moms feel even worse, like me, that we don’t have a perfect schedule..
Our hairs are a mess, don’t even remember the last time we put on makeup and here we go.
Watching moms doing makeup tutorials with their kids dancing behind them.. Seriously?
This made me upset and I’m sure every mom could relate to that too.

HOME DECOR, DIY
Another hit, a simple and bland home with empty walls and no colorful sofas. There is no décor or no DIY projects going on so you start comparing your home to the Instagram perfect homes with candles burning in the corner and a DIY storage is on its way. I swear my kids will eat candles if I keep them in their range so I feel sorry WHY my kids do that but in reality this is true.. This is a normal life with kids. But what we do? We compare and in the end, we become unhappy. There are so many struggling moms financially and emotionally and this burden is just not right.
COOKING AND HEALTHY SNACKING
Watching moms making pretty looking healthy cookies from scratch whereas I am here, using a ready-made cookie mix to make cookies. And I start judging myself for feeding my kids these cookies. Why I didn’t make these from the scratch? Guess what, once I made cookies from a recipe I copied from a baker and I ended up throwing everything because it was not according to our taste.
My home has no DIY storage or a sofa or an upgraded bed. My simple furniture makes me feel guilty why I can’t do anything with that?
My curtains don’t have texture in them and my sofas need some color.
And then what we do, we end up buying so much stuff that’s not even needed
Just to make our home an Instagram perfect home.
So this is a reality check for every struggling mom out there who thinks she is not doing enough. Social media is an awesome thing but don’t just compare your life with those photos posted on Instagram. Don’t feel bad for doing less. It’s all about what others choose to show on their social media channels. Maybe they are not happy but just showing? How do you know?
So don’t ruin your happiness falling for some stupid INSPIRATION from social media. DO WHAT YOU LOVE!
