I am an overprotective kind of mom. The kind of mom who will worry about tiny miny things about her babies. After I gave birth to my first baby, who was the first born in my family and my in-laws family too, we received a lot of guests who were all eager to see the baby.
A lot of them were strangers to me, just relatives and friends of my husband. Some of them were smokers, some were having flu and cough because it was the month of January.
I had to stay firm that NOBODY IS GONNA TOUCH OR KISS MY BABY at least for a few days. I made a lot of people angry, many of them thought I am too rude but I didn’t care. I only thought about my baby who was born after an emergency c-section and he had difficulty breathing.
I know babies are precious, they are soft and cute and all you want to do is kiss them, hug them and hold them in your arms. But when it’s not your baby, you should ask for the consent of the baby’s parents before you even touch the baby.
I know there will be people out there who will think this mom is insane and being so overprotective. Even one of my closest friends told me I am being super rude but come on guys
This is my baby… okay
Who is gonna pay the hospital bills? You or me? Of course, that’s me. Then please keep your opinion to yourself, I don’t need it.
Why you should stop kissing babies!
All babies have weak immune systems and you know even a simple cold can be devastating for them and can even cause long-term chronic illnesses. Do you want to be that uncle or aunt who puts the newborn in danger just because you cannot keep your hands to yourself?
Every year a lot of kids die because of complications of influenza. Even if you are not sick, that doesn’t mean you are not carrying any germs for God sake. So please DON’T TOUCH THE BABY. This isn’t your kid after all so please don’t be the bad guy.

I am sure there are people out there who take their newborn kids to McDonald’s and KFC the next day they are born and don’t even care about the germs.
I know there are also people who have smokers in the family and their kids live in the same home but this doesn’t matter to me.
The thing that matters to me is my baby and my opinion. Do whatever you want to do with your babies but don’t interfere with what I want for my baby.
Do you kiss other’s babies?
What do you guys think? Have you ever faced such a situation? I still remember the harsh words of my relatives who got angry that I didn’t let them kiss my baby but I don’t regret it because I know what I did was right.
