What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear of Saudi Arabia?
Is it the desert?
Or Khana Kaaba?
Or Madina?
Or anything else?
I remember when I was a little girl, I used to think people only visit Saudi arabia for umrah or hajj. I never imagined there is anything else to do there. But I remember I always used to pray to get a chance to live here, in KSA.
I also remember when my husband asked me after we got married that what would be my biggest wild wish? And I told him I want to live near Makkah and Madina. That time we never imagined we would be living in KSA. Life is unpredictable, right. Fast forward few years and my husband told me we are shifting and here we are.
Starting from Al khobar, Dammam, Jeddah and then Riyadh, we have been living here for more than 8 years almost for now. And if you ask me to say just one word about KSA, that would be “wonderful”

We have lived in Khobar for almost a year and I still miss this city. The beautiful corniche, lovely people and the gateway to Bahrain, Khobar is just love.

After living in Khobar for a year almost, we shifted to Jeddah and stayed there for few months only. But those few months were memorable and we miss those times. The best part was easy traveling to Makkah and Madina. We used to visit Makkah for Umrah every week.

If you have not visited KAEC or KAUST in Thuwal, that is near Jeddah, you should plan a trip. This place is just beyond amazing. We have visited many times and every time, I fell in love with this place, the beaches, the people there even more.

These summers, my husband planned a visit to Taif, KSA and it was one of the best summers in Saudi Arabia. My kids loved the city. It is a beautiful full of life city. You will find many more tourists there.
I am so grateful I am living here, a life that many of us only wish for. We can easily go for umrah anytime anyday and this easy access doesn’t mean we don’t value it. We do!

And this is my home now, RIYADH 🙂 I love living here. We came here around 6 years back and now we don’t even think about shifting anywhere. Riyadh is another reason why we love living in KSA.

The peaceful life here is a blessing too. As Saudis say, days are quiet and evenings are lush. You can go to any park or visit a mall and you don’t need to worry if somebody is watching you or you are not safe. It’s lovely here. I roam around with my kids all the time, from parks to malls, from grocery stores to restaurants and never ever I have been into a situation that I fear.
I started a series “WHY WE LOVE LIVING IN SAUDI ARABIA” with KSA expat bloggers just to share the love for KSA. Don’t forget to check out the beautiful posts shared by all these amazing bloggers under my tag. <3
